Super Bowl LV – Game On!

I feel like this year is not exactly game on more like…game, meh.  How do you have a socially-distanced Super Bowl party?  Here in California, I imagine those outdoor TVs might finally get some use. So, if that’s your path, mask up, and remember no double-dipping.

Outdoor TV

Once again, a whole new way of observing an event. And, more firsts! For the first time ever, the game is being played at the home stadium of one of the competing teams. And, for the first time in 55 years, one of the starting quarterbacks is soooooooo old – 43 years old, to be exact – beating his own record of 41 years old in the 2019 Super Bowl while playing for the New England Patriots.

Yup, Super Bowl Sunday is back! I’m ready…fuzzy slippers, yoga pants, blankets and an array of dips with bags and bags of morsels for dipping. The possibilities are endless whether you want to make your favorite French Onion Dip from a soup mix or, if you if you want to elevate it: How about Ina Garten’s Pan Fried Onion Dip?  Can you really go wrong?  But that’s just one option. I’m a fan of Hummus with morsels for dipping and there are so many options.  So, if you’re craving that creamy chickpea concoction try one of these – 20, yes I said 20, variations.

Morsels and dips

I realize some of you are home with bigger families than mine. I thought I’d highlight some options for you that feel like Pub or Sports Bar foods are the only way to go. Lately, the team and I have been trying all kinds of finger foods that are made crispy or crunchier with Margot’s Morsels. While we’ll be eating them by the handful with our favorite drink or topping soup and salad, how about all the other options?

Try these and check out others on our recipe page. Theese Buffalo Cheese Balls are a fun alternative to chicken and go well with Baked Black Pepper Ranch Chicken Fingers made with my favorite chicken thighs that are so flavorful. And, I’m sorry but, if this doesn’t get you, nothing will TATER TOTS! A quick toss in morsels before baking makes them really crispy, out of the oven.

And, finish off your Super Bowl feast with Brownies or try a new recipe no-bake cheesecake squares, just uploaded. I’ll stick to my Fudge Swirled Oreo Bottom Cheesecake Cupcakes. Still a big favorite of mine.

Whatever your menu, whether it’s just you in your comfy clothes with a bag of Margot’s Morsels and a tub of Pub Cheese or, you have the luxury of having your extended family all under one roof these days…stay cozy and have fun!

If you are in the San Francisco bay area, come to the farmer’s markets in the North Bay Area and look for us. Right now we’re in Mill Valley and Marin Country Mart in Larkspur.  I would love to meet you and find out how you use morsels. Don’t forget to Get Your Crunch On!
